When there is
a little one at home

Children feel everything through the body. Through touch, through scent, through a mother's calm.

When a little one is restless, cannot fall asleep or is fussing about their tummy, a mother reaches at once for something to help gently. Without harsh chemistry. In a way that is safe for such a small body.

I walked this path myself. And I found a few gentle helpers that became part of our home. I will share the ones I use with the calmest heart.

For little ones I choose the gentlest oils, always diluted, in small amounts. A child's body is sensitive, so the help should be just as gentle as they are.

What I use for the little ones

If you have decided to begin, I invite you to try my own rituals for little ones:

Copaiba - the gentlest friend for children

If I could have only one oil for children, I would choose Copaiba. It is one of the gentlest oils, so for little ones it comes first. I use it to soothe the skin, dabbing a drop with a carrier on the little feet when my little one is restless. It also strengthens the effect of other oils, so I often add it to gentle blends.

A favourite children's blend: Lavender + Frankincense + Copaiba with a carrier oil, applied to the feet.

Lavender - for calm and for evening

Lavender is always within reach in our home. It gently soothes, helps a little one soften in the evening and settle more easily when the day has been too loud. I apply a drop with a carrier to the soles before sleep. I keep Lavender in the kitchen too, so it is reachable in a moment whenever it is needed.

KidScents DreamEase - for the evening ritual

DreamEase was created precisely for a child's sensitive nature and for the evening ritual. I apply a drop to the soles before sleep so the room settles down. If there is a little one at home who finds it hard to calm down in the evenings, this is the one I recommend first. When the child settles, the mother settles too.

TummyGize - when the tummy is unsettled

TummyGize is made for children's tummy comfort. When a little one is unsettled in the tummy, I gently rub it onto the feet or in circles on the tummy, clockwise. It becomes a small gesture of care, after which calm often returns.

Use: TummyGize on the feet 3-4 times a day or gently on the tummy.

Thieves with honey - when the throat is scratchy

When a little one's throat feels scratchy, I choose the good old way with honey. Into a few spoons of honey I mix a few drops of Thieves, and the child takes a little at a time. A warm, sweet, calming ritual that becomes both tasty and dear.

Recipe: 4 drops of Thieves into 3 spoons of honey, take a little at a time every 15-30 min. Suitable for older children who already eat honey.

Inner Defense - for seasonal support

When everyone around is coughing and "something is coming on", I want to support my little one's body. Then I gently apply well diluted Inner Defense to the feet. This is my way of helping the body be stronger when the season asks for it.

Safe for little ones: always dilute oils for children with a carrier, use small amounts and preferably on the feet. Never on the eyes, ear canals or inside the nose. Do not diffuse Peppermint around small children. Leave at least a 2-hour pause between medicines and essential oils. If your little one is very small, listless, or has a fever and cannot settle, see a doctor.

NingXia Red - a cup of vitamins for a little one

I give NingXia Red to children too - it is a goji berry drink with antioxidants, gentle and tasty. For little ones from two years of age, 15 ml is enough. This is my way of supporting a child's body from within, especially during a change of season or after illness.

🧸 A little one's corner of calm

For evening: KidScents DreamEase or Lavender with a carrier on the soles.

For the tummy: TummyGize on the feet.

For soothing: Lavender + Copaiba with a carrier on the feet.

🌙 For the little ones I created a lullaby album for the evening, Wispers Before Sleep - quiet, gentle songs that, together with scent, help a child settle and fall asleep.

Listen to "Wispers Before Sleep"

I will be honest: oils for little ones are a gentle help that supports everyday life. In more serious cases a child always needs a doctor. This is a daily practice that little by little becomes part of the home. A little one's calm often begins with the mother's calm, and scent helps to create them both.

What a child needs most is to feel safe. Scent, touch and your calm presence beside them become that safety.

Why I choose Young Living

For children, only what is real and pure matters. Up to 90% of essential oils sold on the market are diluted, mixed with cheaper oils or synthetic. For a little one's body such oils are not suitable.

That is why I choose Young Living. Gary Young, the founder, created the Seed to Seal standard - the path from seed to seal. The KidScents line was created precisely for children, gentle and safe. When I use it for my little one, I know there is nothing in it that I would not understand.

The simplest way to begin is the Premium starter kit with a diffuser, Lavender and Copaiba. With that you can already create a first gentle ritual for your little one.

Essential oils are traditionally used to support sensory ritual and wellbeing. This is not a treatment. For children always dilute with a carrier oil, use small amounts, avoid the eyes and mucous membranes. Every child is unique - if a health concern arises, consult a doctor.
